The complete end of tenancy cleaning checklist
When you hand the keys back, your landlord or inventory clerk compares the property against the condition it was let in. This room-by-room checklist covers everything they typically check, so nothing gets missed and your deposit stays yours.
Kitchen
- Oven, hob, grill and extractor degreased inside and out
- Inside and outside of all cupboards and drawers
- Fridge and freezer defrosted, emptied and wiped
- Behind and beside the cooker, fridge and washing machine
- Sink, taps and splashbacks descaled and polished
- Worktops, tiles and skirting boards wiped
Bathrooms and toilets
- Limescale removed from taps, shower screens and tiles
- Toilet cleaned and descaled, including behind the bowl
- Grout scrubbed and mould treated
- Mirrors and chrome polished
- Extractor fan and vents dusted
- Floor washed, including behind the door
Bedrooms and living areas
- All surfaces, shelves and skirting boards dusted
- Inside wardrobes and built-in storage cleaned
- Carpets vacuumed, hard floors mopped
- Marks wiped from walls, switches and sockets
- Internal windows, sills and ledges cleaned
- Light fittings and lampshades dusted
Hallways, stairs and throughout
